Eye Brooch

This is a large brooch that I made to show off a lovely lamp-work bead that I bought from ChrystalRose at a Bead Fair.  I used copper-coloured copper wire in 1mm, 0.8mm and 0.4mm diameter, Chocolate Baroque-shaped genuine Pearls, Graduated Facetted Peridot Rounds, tiny Graduated Facetted Hessonite Garnet Briolette Drops and very tiny Facetted Cubes of Rose-gold-plated Copper, all bought from Jewellery Maker on the TV.

I drew the design months ago in the Autumn, but couldn't decide how to 'fill in' the eyelid, or what gemstones to use around the edge.  Then I saw the Facetted Copper Cubes, the Chocolate Baroque Pearls and the Cuffs & Bangles DVD on Jewellery Maker, and the design just finished itself!  The brooch is quite heavy, so I have added a handmade safety-chain and pin.

I hope to sell the brooch, for which I would like £45 including p&p and a handmade gift box that I made myself.

Hello!

I have decided to start a new blog for my jewellery!  I am still involved in paper-crafting, but I spend much more of my free time making jewellery these days.  I thought I would separate the two strands into separate blogs, so that my posts are more relevant to readers interested in one craft and not the other.

So, here goes!
